Welcome to Mapleton's School Cousellor page!
My name is Mrs. Laurie Bouchard and I am the counsellor here at Mapleton School! Parents and students this website is for you! Explore this site to learn more about the different topics we're discussing at school, and find links to important resources. But first lets start with some things you should know...
The Mission of the school counsellor at Mapleton School is to inspire all students to reach their maximum potential by implementing a comprehensive developmental guidance program that is culturally sensitive and grounded in equity, acceptance and the spirit of reconciliation. As school counsellor, I will help provide an atmosphere of security, warmth, and encouragement. Students will learn from my actions and words that they are worthy of respect, belonging and joy and how to engage with the world from a place of worthiness. Through school counselling programs, all students will be challenged to explore their passions, interests, and talents. As a result, all students will be able to identify personal strengths that can be applied to achieve academic, social-personal, and career goals. By celebrating students' individual growth in partnership with students, educators, families and the community, the school counsellor will help all students become successful lifelong learners with limitless possibilities for their future.
